Emily & Nik // San Francisco Engagement Session
Emily & Nik met at a beach day for their church youth group 8 years ago and have been together ever since! Before that, Emily was friends with Nik’s sister in middle school, but, as middle school goes, they didn’t interact much and Emily thought Nik was awkward (lol).
I met Emily a few years ago while she was in college and I got the chance to take her senior photos. Nik came along for a bit of the session and I was able see how sweet, carefree, & wonderful he and Emily were together! We took some photos of them together around campus and I joked that they looked like engagement photos. A few years later, I was overJOYED when Emily and Nik got engaged and Emily reached out to me about photographing their wedding!
I met up with Emily & Nik in San Francisco for their engagement session, and we battled the ELEMENTS (rain, mist, typical SF stuff) but managed to capture some photos that I feel truly represent their goofy, wonderful relationship. First, we stopped to take photos at a house I’d admired in the Marina for years—it always has the most stunning florals that accentuate the teal blue paint accents. Then, we battled wind & mayhem down by the beach before we bailed to the protection of the Palace of Fine Arts. Shooting at the Palace of Fine Arts and having such stunning architecture as the backdrop to some of their photos was juuuuust freakin’ awesome.
AnYwaY, I can’t wait to travel back up north and celebrate Nik & Emily’s wedding in the fall!
