Elvia & Robert // Malibu Would-Be-Wedding-Day Session
Elvia & Robert were supposed to get married on 8.28.2020.
The venues, dress, and plans were all set, & then COVID came and crashed the party. Since shooting their engagement session earlier this year, I’ve grown to love these two, and have followed along as their wedding plans hung in the balance. Once they made the official decision to postpone their wedding to 2021, I wanted to make sure that their would-be-wedding-day was still a day worth celebrating.
After chatting with the beautiful, radiant, hilarious queen Elvia, we decided to do a just-for-fun romantic shoot in Malibu on their would-be-wedding day before the couple got a tasty seafood dinner. The shoot, complete with two incredibly unique & beautiful dresses and an exotic tropical bouquet, was such a special way to celebrate these two on the day they should’ve become husband & wife.
Braving insane winds & sand in our eyeballs / pockets / ears, this shoot was WILD but so dang fun. Elvia & Robert never shy away from an adventure, and through the literal wind tunnels we found ourselves in, these two somehow managed to still look like a Disney Prince & Princess. I give full credit to the gorgeous couple-in-love, and their ability to make the best of every situation. There’s probably no circumstances that could stop them from having a blast together; amidst wind, sand, cold, and a postponed wedding, their smiles seem pretty permanent as long as they have each other.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love them more, they dropped off Duke’s famous Hula Pie to my freakin’ doorstep after this shoot. They were so thoughtful to bring ME a treat on a day that should have been 3000% about them. Their hearts are as beautiful as their damn faces, I tell ya.
I am SO excited for their wedding day next summer, and know it will be a legendary celebration worth waiting for. In the meantime, I will stare at these photos and look forward to the day these two officially become Mr. & Mrs. Alvarez.
