Vania & Michael // Intimate Santa Barbara Courthouse Elopement

Vania & Michael met through work and bonded over their mutual love of the outdoors and travel. With adventure at the core of their relationship, Michael proposed in Vancouver on a CLIFF overlooking the water, and Vania enthusiastically said YES.

These two always knew they wanted an intimate, simple celebration with just family. They are on the shyer side and agreed they wouldn’t enjoy being the center of attention at a big, traditional wedding. Instead, they opted to have a friend marry them at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and follow their tiny wedding with an intimate family dinner.

I met up with them & their families at the courthouse on a warm sunny June afternoon. Their celebration was so perfectly them—unselfconscious, simple, joyful, and relaxed. A 5-minute ceremony, quick family photos (including a few with their PERFECT tuxedoed family pup), and an hour of frolicking around the courthouse & the beach for pictures that celebrated their playful, carefree connection. JOY was the word of the day: Vania & Michael have such an easy love, and taking photos of them was just fun… my face truly hurt from all the giggling.

The day was uncomplicated, breezy, and sweet as could be! I am so glad this couple followed their gut & planned a wedding so in line with their personalities & relationship.

Congratulations, V & M!!!
