Sarah & Adam // Maravilla Gardens Wedding
Sarah & Adam grew up in the same town & went to the same high school, but were two grades apart. Sarah had a crush on Adam, but figured he was miles out of her league since he was the *~Star Quarterback~* of the football team.
After graduating college, the two reconnected at a mutual friend's birthday party. Adam got Sarah's number and texted her a few days later asking her out. They went to drinks at 4:00pm and stayed at the restaurant until 11:00pm, so enraptured by one another that they never even ate dinner. And the rest was history; Sarebear bagged the quarterback!!!!
A few years later, Sarah and Adam went on a trip with their families to a handful of vineyards. Thinking she was just on a family vacation, Sarah was so surprised when Adam got down on one knee & asked her to marry him! Adam planned and schemed with their families leading up to the big event, and his plan went off without a hitch. Later that day, Sarah’s friends surprised her and together they allegedly “drank almost all of the wine at the winery” to celebrate. Inspiring, truly.
After taking this sweet couple’s engagement photos, I just fell in love with them. Their energy together is electric, and the romantic spark between them is warm and tangible. Two of the most photogenic people I’ve ever met, they made my job a breeze.
On a gorgeous day at Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo, Sarah & Adam’s families and a gaggle of their rowdy, wonderful friends came together to watch them tie the knot under the summer sun. From the moment I arrived at the bridal suite to cheers and applause (a first!!!), spirits were high & everyone was vibrating with excitement. Popping champagne and cheers-ing to the day ahead, Sarah’s bridal party set the tone for the rest of the afternoon—jubilant, supportive, and stoked.
In the afternoon, guests trickled in for the main event, greeting each other with hugs and delight. Foregoing a first look, Adam & Sarah locked eyes for the first time that day as Sarah floated down the aisle with her father. Time seemed to stop, & they both beamed with joy. After a short & sweet ceremony, we took family photos, some wedding party photos, and portraits of the new Mr. & Mrs. Then, we headed down for Sarah and Adam to see the reception setup that they’d only ever imagined & Pinterested & dreamt of. It was SO heartwarming to see how thrilled Sarah was by the setup—so much goes into planning a wedding and I could tell that this was a “dream come true” moment for her.
Later on, guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner, listened to meaningful toasts, and looked on as Sarah & Adam shared a first dance as husband and wife & then danced with their parents. As the sun set behind swaying willow trees, we took a few more portraits of the couple before they hit the dance floor. With nonstop singalongs, guests lifting the couple on their shoulders, line dances, and classic pop hit blaring, the dance floor was a treat to observe.
All in all, this day was simply beautiful, & was the perfect celebration for a very special duo. I did ask Sarah’s family if they would adopt me, & I told them I’d see them at Christmas. No word on that paperwork yet… but please check back in.
Congratulations, Colmans!
