Kendra & Chase // Laguna Niguel Engagement Session
These cuties met about six years ago on a dating app, and have been chasing sunsets together ever since. Kendra & I share a very close mutual friend, and I was soooo excited to hear from her when she & Chase got engaged and set a wedding date!
Our engagement session plans were changed multiple times due to hurricane-force winds, unpredictable lockdowns, and other thrilling obstacles, but everything turned out absolutely perfect when we finally met up in Laguna Niguel. Finding this location was a JOURNEY—Kendra saw a photo online that she loved, but she + I could not find out where the heck it was, as folks were hesitant to share their secret spot with beautiful views & 8 ft tall pampas grass. I get it. No one wants their “spot” to turn into an IG / influencer / photoshoot oasis.
In a magical twist of fate, Kendra & Chase went on a casual walk near their family’s house, and STUMBLED upon the very location she’d been searching for! The stars aligned, & on a lovely Sunday evening, I drove down to the beautiful-secret-sandy-romantic-pampas wonderland to capture the love these two share.
Kendra & Chase have an easy, sweet, laughter-filled relationship. There was hardly a moment that they weren’t cracking up together about one thing or another, which in turn made me laugh my face off. I quickly felt like I’d known them forever, and that feeling & connection made shooting photos of them a dream. My favorite memz from this session were 1) when Chase put on Kendra’s pants instead of his own when he was changing, and I watched his face as he briefly thought over 1,000 different scenarios—like “Where did these pants come from?” “Where are my pants?” “Is she cheating on me?” “Who’s PANTS did she PACK?!” (we laughed for 10 minutes before we realized they were Kendra’s) and then 2) when Chase covered his entire body with a baby owl blanket and all I could see was his floating head. See picture below…
I adore these two, and am so excited to (~hopefully~) celebrate their wedding this coming summer.
