Kate & Claudia // Bay Area Engagement Session

A few years ago, Kate & Claudia both attended USC PT school, but somehow never crossed paths. As chance would have it, after graduating, they both ended up at Stanford as physical therapists, and Claudia became Kate’s mentor. They had a friendly relationship, and fell into a platonic co-working dynamic. That was until Kate asked everyone at work if they wanted to join her & go to a concert, and Claudia proceeded to tell everyone they worked with to PRETEND they were busy, so that the concert would end up… you guessed it… a surprise date with just the her & Kate. Her coworkers obliged and everyone told Kate they were busy. Kate was confused—but still excited for the outing—when it turned out that Claudia was *the only one* available to accompany her… and the rest is history. Job well done, Claudia. Job.. well.. done.

Taking photos of Kate & Claudia (and their dog) Remington was, no exaggeration, an all-time work highlight. It was laughter therapy and pure joy and the very best time. It was another “how is this my job” moment, because I felt like rather than working, I was just hanging out with and getting to know two incredible people with contagious positive energy. From learning about their love story, to chatting about our families, to becoming their dog’s best pal, to running around in the boundless redwood trees of Huddart Park as the sun set behind us, my time with them was simply a dream.

After spending only a few hours with these beautiful women, it’s clear to me that they are undoubtedly meant to be together. They are silly, loving, hilarious, and non-stop FUN as a couple, and the way they look at each other could melt a polar ice cap. I am so grateful that the world brought these two into my life, and am SO stoked for their wedding this fall :)

I also miss Remington very much. I hope he’ll be there in a bow tie…
