Taylor & Brody // Leo Carillo Engagement Session

Taylor & Brody are the cutest high school sweethearts West of the Mississippi. They began dating their sophomore year, and have been through countless life events as a couple from graduations to beginning their careers in medicine & education. Together, they even became puppy parents to a precious dingo-lookin’ doggo named Daisy! (Say that 10x fast…)

When I first hopped on the phone with these two, we laughed for half of our call and quickly realized we went to the same high school and had tons of mutual friends but somehow never met! From speaking with them, I knew pretty quickly that I wanted to be their friend… and take their pictures. :’) Lucky for me, they felt the same way & we got RIGHT to planning their Malibu engagement session.

The three of us eventually met up at Leo Carillo, and were promptly greeted by a production crew security team telling us the part of the beach we planned to explore was closed off for filming. I panicked slightly, going over different local beaches in my brain and calculating which we could get to the fastest. Brody, a calm + collected genius, gently solved our problem by suggesting we head just down the beach to another beautiful area to shoot. We pivoted and found a secluded, gorgeous cove & cliff area to use for their pix. :)

From dodging gusty winds, to frolicking (literally, these who are ELITE frolickers) across the beach, to climbing some rocky terrain, to popping champagne for their photos, this engagement session was a dream and a half! I had such a blast with these two, & am so excited to be a part of their beachside wedding next summer. :)
