Nicole & Bryce // Thousand Oaks Engagement Session

Nicole & Bryce’s love story begins as all fairytales do… at a farm party. Allow me to explain—Bryce & Nicole both attended Cal Poly Pomona, where Bryce studied agricultural business & Nicole was studying to become a veterinarian!

In college, Bryce admired Nicole from afar, and saw her occasionally because they shared mutual friends. Over time, he developed a biiiiig crush on her. Meanwhile, Nicole knew OF this pony-tailed, rowdy cowboy, but didn’t really know him. Well, Bryce had a plan to change that: he decided to host a party at the campus ranch, and he made sure Nicole was invited. At the party, the two formally met, and Bryce was immediately smitten. Nicole really liked Bryce, but was about to graduate and move to KANSAS for 4 years; she was pretty certain that Bryce would not stick around as she completed veterinary school.

Well, many visits to Kansas, copious Facetime dates, and 4 years later, Bryce & Nicole were still together! In their time apart, they built an incredibly strong foundation for their relationship, and once they were both in California, there was no doubt in their minds that they were with the right person.

Two dogs and many beautiful memories later, the couple got engaged on a trip to Mammoth. Bryce got a GoPro all set up to take a video / photos of them, and as they stood in front of a breathtaking viewpoint, he got down on one knee and proposed. At least that’s what the footage shows—Bryce said he blacked out from nerves. :)

This week, the couple ventured down for their engagement session here at Wildwood Regional Park.. my fave. A few minutes after meeting them, this couple felt like old friends to me. Bryce is incredibly gentlemanly, kind, and TALL, and Nicole is sweet as could be, so easy-going, and would also be 6’5” if she stood on her huge heart. ;) Spending time hiking around the park with them was so much fun.. the weather was PERFECT and the sunset was stunning. I am so grateful to know these two sweet souls, and SO excited for their wedding this summer at Gerry Ranch!
