Cara & Jeremy // Colorful Summer Wedding at The Lodge at Malibou Lake

Jeremy and Cara’s story began on Hinge! After meeting in person (several months after they initially matched, they’re busy bees), they quickly realized how much they had in common. Beyond their shared cultural + family values, they’re both big travelers… and even bigger foodies. It didn’t take long for them to realize that together, life would be full of adventure and a never-ending pursuit of the best food in town. They both quickly knew they’d met the one.

Cara & Jeremy’s wedding day at The Lodge at Malibou Lake was the perfect blend of heartfelt tradition, rich summer colors, and genuine joy. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, these two created a celebration that felt warm & personal from beginning to end.

From the moment I arrived, I could feel the excitement buzzing through the suite where Cara & her girlfriends got ready. When I walked in, Cara swiftly handed me a baggy of Jeremy’s handmade rugalach (a delicious chocolate + dough pastry). Guys, I have had this pastry probably 50-70 times in my life, but I swear Jeremy’s was the BEST. If being a DOCTOR doesn’t work out for him, he has a serious future in baking.

The Lodge, with its backyard-chic charm and serene lake views, was the most gorgeous backdrop for a day full of laughter, love, and connection. Making a wonderful event even sweeter, I got to work with my right-hand woman, Tiffany, who planned every part of the day alongside the couple with her signature thoughtfulness and attention to detail. The color palette was pastel summer magic; bursts of purple, blue, and citrus tones popped against the natural greens of The Lodge at Malibou Lake. Every element, from the playful florals to the custom matchbooks & cocktails, reflected the couple’s personality & love story, and created an atmosphere that felt vibrant and full of life.

Speaking of full of life, I especially loved when Cara and Jeremy’s sweet pup, Callie, made a special appearance for a few photos! Callie has about as much energy as an F1 car and might just be the most photogenic creature I’ve ever met. She immediately got the zoomies on the lawn when she saw Cara and Jeremy, & it was so adorable to have her involved, even if just for a few minutes.

Throughout the ceremony & reception, the couple beautifully wove Jewish traditions into each element of their day. From signing the ketubah surrounded by their loved ones, to their sun-soaked chuppah ceremony under a canopy (adorned with bright blooms by the AMAZING Somethings Blooming team,) every moment felt uniquely meaningful and sacred. Later on, the joy that radiated from their guests during the hora was absolutely electric; it was one of those moments where everyone was completely swept up in the celebration, eyes UP on the couple as they floated above the crowd, smiles beaming. Cara might have thought she was going to fall face-first off the hora chair, but she still managed to laugh & enjoy the chaos of the moment.

It was also moving to see how Cara honored her mother’s memory throughout her wedding celebration. She recreated a few cherished photos from her parents’ wedding: one of her mother sitting in a chair, and another of her mother kissing her father’s cheek. Cara also carried a bouquet adorned with a charm featuring her mother’s photo, along with images of other loved ones who passed. Through these thoughtful details, Cara and Jeremy found a beautiful way to include the memory of their loved ones in their wedding day.

As the sun set behind the hills and a live band filled the warm indoor space with incredible music, guests enjoyed an UNREAL dinner (seriously, The Lodge has the BEST chef—#ChefTiff). After several delicious courses and heartfelt speeches, Cara and Jeremy danced the night away with all their favorite people.

Congratulations, Cara & Jeremy… & Callie!!!
