Carly & César // Thousand Oaks Engagement Session

Carly & César met in Oregon during their freshman year of college, when Carly’s friend invited her to go out one night. The party they ended up at just happened to be César’s birthday party.

It’s so funny to think that César’s birthday gift that year was… meeting his future wife. The pair hit it off the first night they met, and about 6 years later, they got engaged at an amazing outdoor gym in Tulum, Mexico.

I grew up with Carly, and was sooo excited when she reached out about engagement photos. In my memories from high school, Carly was ALWAYS the life of the party, always made everyone laugh, and was rarely seen without her signature bright & friendly smile. Looking forward to their session, I was so thrilled to finally get to meet the guy that won Carl’s heart. Getting to know César—from his good energy, jokester-sense-of-humor, and dentist-commercial-worthy grin—it’s no surprise that he & Carly found their soulmate in one another. They compliment each other perfectly, have nonstop fun together, and are care-free and hilarious—& they were a blast and a half to work with.

The three of us met up at our hometown hiking trails for their sunset engagement session, and we had the best time. Trudging through tall weeds, popping champagne, laughing for about an hour straight, and seeing Carly scared half to death by a tarantula….. their session was a HOOT.

I canNOT wait for their wedding next year, and will be staring at these photos and making absurd save-the-dates (scroll to the very end and you’ll see what I mean..) until then.
