Veronica & Shaan // Malibu Engagement Session

Veronica & I went to the same high school, but somehow never met. I’ve concluded that our paths never crossed because she’s about 34 times smarter than me; I wouldn’t last a day in AP Chemistry. Not without tears, at least.

Veronica & Shaan got engaged last year in Banff, Canada, and planned a big, beautiful, three-part wedding for this summer. Due to COVID, they had to reschedule their big day, so they needed some “change-the-date" + engagement photos! We planned their session just 24 hours in advanced, and the couple was quickly on board for a spontaneous beach adventure. Though the session was pretty last-minute, we coincidentally met up on Shaan & Veronica’s 50-month anniversary. In their relationship, every monthaversary is reason for a celebration (which I freakin’ love, because I do the same thing with my other half…) so it was a blast to spend this VERY IMPORTANT anniversary date with them. ;)

Shaanica (the couple name I gave them) and I met up at the beach in Malibu for their session, and had such a great time running around the rocks & watching the sun set. The weather was ideal, the last few rays of light were glowing over the mountains, and Shaan & Veronica were so sweet together; they made my job sooo easy. After their session, while walking to our cars & chatting, I realized how much we had in common! We knew all the same people, teachers, and funny stories from our high school, & I couldn’t believe that Veronica & I were not pals in school. #regrets

These two are the friendliest, kindest humans and I am so glad I got to spend this evening with them. I already have plans to crash their wedding in a top-hat, stick-on mustache, and monocle, so stay tuned for next summer…
